cihocki @davidkohnstamm not a problem! You measure in a straight line from the point where the sleeve meets the body of the jacket at the armpit right where it forms a “V” across the front to the same point on the other side. I find that measurement always gives me the best idea of fit in terms of whether I want to layer or not. Filson sizes in the last few years have been all over the place so unfortunately a L isn’t a standard size for them anymore. Thank you for reaching out!

davidkohnstamm @cihocki I think you are right. It is a big large. It measures 23 inches from pit to pit and 16 inches from pit to waste seam

cihocki @davidkohnstamm thank you for taking the time. Unfortunately that’s too small for me to wear over anything but the tightest of Tshirts. Good luck with selling it, it’s an awesome coat and if it was any larger I’d have bought it.
