This is a waxed canvas backpack. I does have an oder to it, the same as you would find on any waxed canvas product. I am the original owner and I have used it a few times. It only has light wear with no rips, tears or stains. All zipper and snaps work. If you like old school stuff, you will like this. I have too many backpacks to some have got to go.
