One of the buckles on the long strap is a little weak and might need a little welding but it still holds. I bought it this way and have been careful wearing it with long shoulder strap. I mostly wear it without long strap and use short leather handles.

@claudiae426 not much, I would just recommend maybe getting it fixed so you could carry more things in purse with strap. You can take away the long strap and just wear it with handles. When I bought it, I noticed the strap was a little weak so I was extra careful with it.
