This is Femme au fauteuil rouge (Woman in a Red Armchair) a lithograph of an oil on canvas painting by Pablo Picasso. It was painted in 1929 and is housed at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas². The painting resembles a traditional portrait of a woman sitting in an armchair, but Picasso has deconstructed the subject so that she is unrecognizable. The woman is considered to bear a likeness to Picasso's wife, Olga Khokhlova, but she may be an unnamed model². The painting was influenced by Surrealism². This is an original lithograph from Picasso Lithographe Notices et Catalogue Establis Par Fernand Mourlot II put into circulation by Fernand Mourlot and created between 1947-1949
