cardimono Yes, thank you so much for Posting this! And I know, it does seem offensive but I tell sellers when I'm interested in something that it's because the shipping is so high, unfortunately. kat_sposhcloset @namartin60 shipping for 5 pounds is $8.27 buyer pays unless seller discounts to one of the amounts or offers free. the chart is on reasonable offers, and how much seller retains. Hope this helps clarify.

kat_sposhcloset @namartin60 post office gets shipping money as well as poshmark the company retaining some of the shipping charges. Sellers get no part of shipping charges as a kick back.

namartin60 @kat_sposhcloset .. sorry I don’t understand … so if shipping is discounted … poshmark gets the remainder? I know so many times it doesn’t cost that much to ship. So if the seller charges whatever to ship and it costs less they get the rest in their pocket?

kat_sposhcloset @namartin60 If shipping is discounted it means we pay for part of it as the seller. Poshmark negotiated the shipping contract with the post office. The only one who is pocketing is the Corporation. I pay over $1200 in shipping upcharges every year. So if the packages weigh 5.2oz, I have to pay to upgrade to 6 pounds. Which out of my profit is $4.50 each time.

kat_sposhcloset @namartin60, even if it would be less, the negotiated contract is $8.27 on every package up to 5 pounds. The label is automatically printed under poshmark.com account. If anyone profits, it would be the company, not the sellers.

namartin60 @kat_sposhcloset , thanks for the time you took to explain this. Still not sure I totally understand it, as that’s a pretty high shipping amount. I paid that price for a keychain, and it obviously didn’t cost that to send it. It doesn’t seem fair to a buyer. When you negotiate a price with a seller for the value of an item, then you have to add that shipping amount … 🫤

kat_sposhcloset @namartin60 I normally send bigger items. The charge on shipping is fixed, I normally bundle a few things to offset this. It would be helpful if they had an under 1 pound like other sites do. Which would ship ground but be $5.41 I think.
