Fab Issey Miyake Dress

Gorgeous, Vintage, Minimalist Creation by Iconic Japanese Designer Issey Miyake. Issey Miyake Fête pieces were known for their sculptural designs and innovative textural techniques. Made of (soft) Wool, double layers of semi-sheer silk fabric encircle the asymmetrical neckline and travel down the right side of the bodice where they stop, and then begin again, cascading all the way down the right side of the dress to the hem, with a 13” slit separating them. Labeled a Japanese Size 3, the dress aligns with a Modern US Size Small: Underarm to underarm measures 17” across. The dress is 49” long with a sleeve length of approximately. 24”. It is a fairly straight cut (15” waist) — the Fête line was made with comfort and freedom of movement in mind; fête means celebration in French — but it would also look great belted if you prefer a defined waistline.
