FAQ 1/2 ❓DO THESE SCAMS REALLY HAPPEN? ➡️Yes they do. Every day. I got scammed out of a Lego set three months ago and my cousin out of an LV the first day she signed up here. ❓THE PHOTOS OF THE BAG LOOK REAL, WHY DO YOU THINK IT’S A SCAM? ➡️Yes, of course the listing looks real, because it WAS. These scammers STOLE REAL LISTINGS by copying and pasting ALL THE PHOTOS AND VERBIAGE from the ORIGINAL SELLER’s closet or page from Posh, TheBay, Mekari, etc. Please READ EVERYTHING! I recently saw a scam listing for a Toy Story tote that said it was “just in time for the new Toy Story Movie.” Toy Story 4 came out in 2019! ❓THE SELLER’S CLOSET LOOKS LEGIT THO. ➡️Sure! Because they’re scamming you. Please LOOK CAREFULLY at their page. Username, Name, Account Creation Date, and ESPECIALLY LOVENOTES! Has ANYONE given them positive reviews and have THEY?? ❓HOW CAN THEY SCAM WHEN THEY HAVE TO USE POSH’S LABEL? ➡️Scammers will tamper with your Posh label, CHANGING your name to Current Residence and your address to a DIFFERENT house number on the same street or maybe a DIFFERENT block. They’re probably using Google Earth for this info. ❓WELL THEY CAN’T RECEIVE MY FUNDS IF I DON’T ACCEPT THE PACKAGE RIGHT? ➡️Posh will AUTOMATICALLY RELEASE your money to the scammers after THREE DAYS your package was delivered. Since those scammers changed your address, your package was delivered to the address the scammer edited in the label.

aforeverlylove @dualstyle read the end part about changing the address so that's how it works 😩😱 it's absolutely crazy that posh can't get these scam accounts and listings under control. with the 20% they take from each and every listing you'd think they can put that money to get use and beef up security a bit 😠

misshobo We REAL poshers LOVE you for putting these notices out there to warn of FAKE SCAMMERS!!! Most of us seasoned poshers know what to look for with these dang scammers. This good information helps new posh buyers immensely!! Thank you so much for posting these, I'm hoping Posh take notice and put you on the payroll!!!

dualstyle @aforeverlylove ugh honestly! I knew it had something to do with the address labels. its running rampant!I think your idea is great + they should have to add like a "captcha" system before posts go through because it sounds like 99% of these scam listings are done through a BOT program + they are being automatically generated from higher selling recently sold items. like you said though the techies at poshmark honestly need to address it or they are going to lose a majority of users

greentastic @aforeverlylove Posh probably can’t handle the influx of scams, but that isn’t an excuse. I’m starting to feel that Posh doesn’t care about it because they get 20% of the cut.

greentastic @misshobo Thanks!! I hope I’m not over doing it. I feel like I’m a crazy person on the side of the road holding an End of Days sign.

greentastic @dualstyle I agree who heartedly with your entire statement here. I think there’s a couple scammers who are using bots. Because after I posted specially about LV scams, five listings from seemingly different poshers changed added “Not a scam” onto their post. Another scammer put “vip” at the end of all their usernames, and another scammer had a couple of accounts with Thai or Vietnamese names.

aforeverlylove @greentastic you know how when we submit an email to posh through the app we need to do a captcha alert that prevents bots from getting through. I feel like a captcha set up for new listings would thwart a lot of these automated bots from getting through though I know it wouldn't stop all of them. it's terribly frustrating. new poshers & new listings are constantly filled w scam accounts/listings. it's no wonder sometimes when I post new stuff, no one can even find it in the sea of scams. 😬

greentastic @aforeverlylove Yes, I am thinking and feeling the same way. I reported so many listings and tagged the original sellers about their stolen photos when possible. I made posts about scammers but it’s getting tedious to keep up. There’s so many scammers just in the D&B section. My posts in the Coach section get lost.
