Extraordinary Flawless Rare Jumbo Hiddenite Spodumene

This may be the finest stone I own. It is huge, weighing in at 68.95 carats, and is Internally Flawless (IF), and is an Asscher cut, which takes great skill and a great stone! Spodumene comes in two varieties - Kunzite is the better known pink type (usually heated). Both are 6.5-7.0 on Moh's scale of hardness. Hiddenite is the clear-yellow-green type (usually heated). In bright light, this stone looks colorless. But in low lighting or against a black background, its hints of minty-green will turn heads and make people ask you "what's THAT?!" Looking at this stone sitting in my palm, you get a sense both of its astonishing size and its artisan cut perfection. You can look through the back of the gem and it is like a perfect prism! This beauty hails from Afghanistan, is completely free of any defects or mars, and is untreated/unheated, which is also a mark of its perfection. It measures 22.85 X 22.4 X 16.5 mm.
