Excellent Condition OOAK One-Piece “Big Stitch” Quilt Twin Size Handmade Cottage

This beautiful quilt has been done with a Peachy-pink top layer expertly quilted to a bottom backing layer of a Pale pink & blue print of tiny flowers scattered on field of blue dots. Good puffy but lightweight batting. This One-Piece quilt is an example of "Big Stitch" quilting, where a thicker thread is used to allow the quilting stitches to become part of the design element of the quilt. The stitching adds dimension and texture to the quilt, and is often used on a One-Piece (unpieced top) quilt to introduce pattern and a handmade charm. Similar to Japanese "Sashiko" quilting, this style of quilting became very popular during the 1980s and 90s, and is still used today, especially for cottage, romantic, shabby chic, rustic, and modern quilts. The accomplished Quilting has been done with 8 stitches to the inch in very precise straight and curvilinear lines. Generous twin bed size of 88” X 76” including 2.5” ruffle. Excellent condition with no issues or problems that I can see. Freshly hand washed and dried in clean mountain air.
