Estate 14K Gold Old Chinese Carved Mutton Fat White Jade Nephrite 3.2" Pendant Acquired from an Estate of a Jade collector comes this very old 19th century Hotan (Hetian) in Xinjiang, China Chinese Carved jade Nephrite known commonly as “Mutton Fat”. The jade is translucent warm creamy white / Pale and slight green undertone. No cracks or fissures. The captivating jade carving is intricately carved into a fluid, organic abstract form with delicate curves and subtle detailing. The bottom section has a narrow neck minute passage which has been capped in 14K solid gold to enhance the pendant when worn. Thick top cap bezel and large bale all in solid 14K yellow gold. The carving is compact and solid, with a smooth finish that invites touch.
