Embroidered Floral Canvas Bag

This gorgeous purse was lovingly handmade and crewel embroidered. It looks to have been assembled as a ‘kit’. Women, in the 1960s, could embroider the actual bag, then mail it off to a company who would then frame it. Flowers, vines, and leaves weave throughout with a center bluebird sitting in the midst. The interior is lined with a beige faille and has one patch pocket and one metal zipper pocket. Brown lucite frames the purse. My best guess as to the embroidered fabric is Muslin. There is a small snap at top center interior that closes the purse.
