This jar is a replica apothecary jar from the 17th century, produced in the 1970s.
It was used as a promotional item for Darvocet N-100 and was given to physicians.
The jar features a crackle finish with gold trim and reads "Pro Dolore Moderata Darvocet N 100" on the front.
The Latin phrase "Pro Dolore Moderata" translates to "For Moderate Pain".
The jar is in nice shape. There is a small divot in the gold paint - it appears to be a manufacturing artifact, not subsequent damage. No chips or cracks other than the crackle finish in and out. There is a wavy line through the gold, but again, that could be manufactured.
