Elegant 1960s Black Sleeveless Dress With Rhinestone Sailor Button Back Bow Flap

This elegant sleeveless black sleeveless dress is true vintage, with a made in California tag sewn inside. My guess is 1960s but could be earlier. The dress fastens in back with a working zipper hidden by a dramatic long flap that is joined to the dress by two rows of half-sphere rhinestone buttons arranged sailor style and two tiny hidden metal snap closures. The waist is accentuated by a black satin band that runs all the way around the dress. The open square back is also banded in black satin. Where the flap attaches to the dress, the black satin motif is repeated with two black satin bows. There are a few tiny imperfections, understandable given the garment’s age. (See photos for examples; these are all I saw but may not be exhaustive.) One button is missing one rhinestone. There may be some loose threads or tiny snags. The underside of one arm pit shows more wear than the other. But all of these are only visible upon close inspection; it’s an incredible vintage item with tons of wear left in it. Approximate length from pit to pit: 18 inches. Approximate length taken from front of garment: 34.5 inches. Would probably best fit a modern U.S. size XS. I am a size small (US 6) with wide hips and it’s just a smidge too snug on me (because of my hips).
