This bolo tie was made by Effie Calavaza. She was born Feb 15 1927 and lived until 2019. She was from the Zuni tribe of New Mexico and her family is known for their snakes with inlaid turquoise eyes. This beautiful bolo is 2 3/4” tall x 2” wide. There are 5 turquoise stones and two snakes with turquoise inlaid eyes on the bolo. There are no bent or missing prongs. The turquoise was hand selected for quality without any cracks or chips and very nice natural matrix. There is nice stamp work on the silver. The leather cord tie is approximately 40" long. The end tips were measured separately. They are in 2 parts. The top piece is a Sterling silver tube and is 2” long. Connected to the tube is a separately crafted piece and it has two stones and one snake with inlaid turquoise stone eyes. The bottom pieces are 1 1/4" tall and approx .5” wide. The cord is open at the top of the neck for comfort. Effie C Zuni is stamped on the back of the main Bolo and the tips also. This is a vintage piece in good condition.
