Vintage, actually ANTIQUE Pyrex casserole dish with silver-plate holder. Dish is 9" diameter, 2.5" deep. In the holder, it is about 10.5" across at the handles. The lid is etched with a floral pattern and also has PYREX in all caps at the edge.
This Pyrex backstamp is hard to read, but after a ton of effort and research, I am 99.99% sure that it says Patented at the top, PYREX in all caps, May 27 1919 at the bottom, with two of the "backward $" which are actually a CG monogram.
This stamp places this pyrex between 1919 and 1924.
Unfortunately, there are 5 superficial scratches on the bottom, 3 can be felt on the inside surface only, and two can be felt on the outside surface only. Each is 1 to 1.5" long. They do not appear to be through and through. There are also some small scratches felt at the rim of the bottom, and they feel very superficial and on the outside surface.
I do not know if this would be safe to use for cooking. I would recommend that it be kept as a Pyrex collector piece only.
