Early 1900's Vintage Leather Letter Carrier

This letter carrier, or very over-sized clutch, belongs to a 93-year old man. He says that it belonged to his mother-in-law, and is at least 80 years old. This is a very well-made, handcrafted piece, with detailed basketweave, and floral tooling on the flap. It has a functional snap, in good working order, and a small inner pocket. The quality leather is a heavy, stiff leather, in excellent condition. There is some fading of the dye due to handling, over the years. The stitching is worn or missing in several spots, as shown in photos. Otherwise, this piece is in excellent vintage condition. 15"wide, 7" deep.
