Dorsey Brothers, Benny Goodman, Paul Whiteman, Frankie Carl, Harry James, Phil Harris, Glen Gray, Harry Owens, Guy Lombardo to name a few. 2200 people paid to attend the last dance before the building burned October 21, 1945.
CYPRESS STREET, the old Main Street of Pismo Beach, 1933 looking toward Pomeroy. Few of the small shops remain today. Note the Post Office about midway down the street. The Postmaster, Fred Lindley, circulated the petition that changed Pismo or El Pizmo officially to Pismo Beach on July 1, 1923.
