EXCEPTIONAL 1940s' UNIQUE TOP BLACK FELT CONICAL HAT + RED FEATHER & APPLIQUES

This is an exception ally rare and glamorous black feet hat from the 1940s' which will enhance any outfit. The conical shape has a special shape as shown in the photos. The hat is also folded at the back to hold a beautiful Fred feather & quill. The bottom of the hat is trimmed with a beautiful black appliqué band. there is no size because the hat is to sit on top off the heat, tilted to one side. There is an elastic band attached th=o the inside of the hat to keep it in place. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
