A collectible rubber car? Rubber toy cars came on the scene in 1935 and were very popular until WWII when toy production was stopped for war materials. They re-emerged after the war for a short time, unfortunately being all but replaced in competition with cheaper forgein plastic toys by around 1950. This is a 1948 Buick 2-door sedanet replica with a very hard rubber body and metal axles for the undamaged 4 wheels, made by the Arcor Safe Play Toys Comp. in Auburn, Indiana. Great original decorations, including gold accent paint on all windows and front an rear bumpers. Minor wear to the metallic paint from normal wear on this true classic toy car. Would be a great addition to any collection!
