This is a Vintage ESSO 1952 New York City & Vicinity souvenir map Scarf made of synthetic material. ESSO (Standard Oil of New Jersey, ExxonMobil, Mobil) made many paper souvenir maps, but this is a rare synthetic Scarf that was given to Esso company executive wives so they’d have more knowledge about how to get around New York City while visiting. On one side is a 30 mile area map of metro New York with landmark photos. The other side is a sightseer's map of lower Manhattan and transit map of the subway & elevated lines. Around the border of the map is an index to streets, hotels, theaters, stores, buildings, parks, churches, transportation terminals, etc. Also listed are descriptions of museums, zoos & more! Condition: Like New, never used.
