OWING TO A FINANCIAL CRISIS, I'm offering this and some of my pricier items at greatly reduced prices. Hurry! Once the crisis is averted, prices will revert to pre-crisis levels.
THIS BEAUTIFUL PITCHER FROM THE EMPOLI REGION OF ITALY, C. 1950’S OR 1960’S, is in near-perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, spots, stains, etc. (Note that hand-crafted glassware is never entirely free of defects; small spots and/or bubbles are common and should not be considered defects but as signs of quality.) This pitcher is cased glass, yellow over white, with an applied amber handle. It measures 12.25” high, and 8” at its widest point. Note that Empoli designates an area of Italy, not a specific glassmaker. (Empoli is a town in Tuscany, about 12 miles southwest of Florence.) On the basis of its close resemblance to a ewer I found online, I have tentatively identified the maker of this pitcher as Cristalleria Fratelli Betti.
