Rechargable, battery using usb cord as been tested and found the be in good working order. I do not know how long it will hold a charge but I think flight time is very limited. Controller uses three AA batteries which are not provided. Directions are missing if there were any. Search online for the appropriate app needed to use the drone with your phone. The box has some wear but the drone is in great pre-owned condition with little to no sign of use. Intended audience is age 14+. This is a good beginner drone due to price point and ease of use.
