-Round concave plate with a flat base and flared sides rising to a unglazed coggled rim.
-This vintage redware pottery plate has a green glaze was patterned after fragments from General Varnum’s Quarters, Valley Forge PA., as inscribed on the back of the piece.
-Signed & dated by the Artist, Dorothy Long 1984. Stamped M.E.L.
-She was a master potter of redware, sgraffito and slipware and other folk pottery.
-Preowned vintage condition, no cracks, a few chips on rim. Back of plate looks like it has been scorched for someunknown reason.
