"Don't give up the ship," the dying command of James Lawrence in 1813 aboard USS Chesapeake (1799) Vintage/antique Polished aluminum tray with wide tab handles. The logo on the front has a depiction of American hero sailor James Lawrence who would not surrender and was quoted saying; “Don’t give up the ship!”. This was his last words and is still a popular navel battle cry. This quote is inscribed on the tray! This would be a great gift for anyone who is or has served. Especially Navy personnel! Thank you for your service!! Perfect for your table, bar, or man cave! Very good condition. In 1934, the Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) introduced a new giftware line under the trade name “Kensington”. Kensington was made of an aluminum alloy, overcoming some of the more troubling limitations of pure aluminum. Lurelle Guild was then hired in 1934 to design the entire line of giftware. Glassware not included.
