“You will be required to do wrong no matter where you go. It is the basic condition of life, to be required to violate your own identity. At some time, every creature which lives must do so."
Like your jewelry to mean something? You'll love my handmade literature necklaces! This one depicts the Phillip K. Dick Science Fiction novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, which served as the basis for the Blade Runner films.
This unisex necklace features (from left to right), first, an owl charm, for the ostensibly real owl owned by the Rosen Association which is revealed to be an android. Next is a sheep charm, since in the novel's post-apocalyptic world sheep and other animals represent humanity and the moral divide between humans and androids. In the center is a book cover pendant. To the right is a round charm engraved with the quote "The electric things have their life too. Paltry as those lives are." Last is a toad charm, for the toad Rick Deckard discovers that lifts his spirits, until he realizes it is artificial. This necklace has been newly handmade just for you, and is adjustable from 18 to 26 inches (can be made shorter or longer upon request).
