Beautifully tailored couture suit jacket by Piero Dimitri. Fully lined, this is a heavy suit jacket, soft cowl velvet style collar with soft lapels, the striped suit jacket pattern is intricately detailed cotton material type stripes alternating with velvet fabric striping. Long sleeved. Approximately a size 8. Barely worn as it was created for custom studio wardrobe. Made in Italy. Length: approx.. 29”L total from collar to bottom hem (blousoned / cinched waist to bottom is 9.75” ) Shoulder to shoulder: approx.. 18.5” W Shoulder pads are medium to large size Length of sleeve: approx. 23” from shoulder to wrist Italian born, Dimitri was the ‘go-to’ designer of modern men’s & women’s wear, esp. 1970s-1990’s. 3 time Coty Award winner, he was known as ‘the maestro’ as he designed, made all the patterns, handled tailoring, styling & designed ready-to-wear & bespoke clothing. Dimitri’s accolades included designing wardrobes for TV and feature films. This piece is likely from his 1988 couture collection, classic, modern and elegant.
