I see he is persnickety about when he wants to receive the loving, like ZoΓ«. She'll sometimes complain or wipe off my kisses. She hates to have her photo taken, but loves to look at herself. #Conceited #NoPaparazzi πΈ

Haha...yes....so sad...NOT!!! We're the same way. That's the way these precious innocent animals are to be loved and treated!!!

@shoeshoed Who do you have? Monty and ZoΓ« are polar opposites. We went for Monty (adoption fair), only to wind up with them both, because they fostered together and they duped us into believing he was progressing because of her (he'd previously been with a hoarder - severely neglected and abused).
Much to our chagrin, she's sweet, super smart, loyal to a fault, possessive, and totally crazy. But, we love her through it.
Jul 03Reply

myzturee
@shoeshoed Monty is a curmudgeonly little con artist, who is cuddly, dapper, greedy, skittish, super adorable, a finicky eater, and a lady's man. He thinks he's my husband (despite my actual husband, of course), and likes me to hold him on my shoulder like a baby. He feels "entitled" to be treated like a human, and dog food is, "beneath him," as is eating from the bowl (he prefers to be spoonfed).
Jul 03Reply

myzturee
@shoeshoed He actually huffs in protest when he doesn't get his way, and is quite the randy π little fella...even though he's been fixed. π€¦π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈ

@myzturee ...love rescues. They need the most care and love to make up for what they went thru. I rescued 2 Cockers. They were so sweet. 1 died last yr at age 13... a month before I lost my Mom of heart failure and 1 at age 7 for lukemia...a hard fought battle. We also lost a Yorkie age 15 and now only have our mini schnauzer who was rescued from abandament. People say they swear he's a human as I'm sure you can relate. It's his home and he let's us live with him...lol!!!

@myzturee ...lmbo!!! Sounds like Bo! He pushed my husband away from me with his feet when we're laying down and if we kiss, he pushes his face between us! Little stinkers...lol!!#

@shoeshoed So sorry to hear of your losses, my condolences. I was raised by my Dad, whom we lost 10 years ago this Tuesday - after 20+ years battling myriad disease processes, he succumbed as a result of a hospital-acquired infection.
π€¦π½ββοΈπ«π’π We were, and remain heartbroken by the loss.

I, too have had several little great fur-folks...these are the firsts in nearly 20 years. The last one before was such a toughy, Wonton - a pug gifted to me by a friend who knew I adored them (parents were modestly breeding their personal pair) - I wasn't ready to open my heart again for a good while.
Jul 03Reply

myzturee
@shoeshoed They've all but made up for the time in between and make the wait worthwhile. Total hams. It's interesting trying to juggle all of the personalities vying for my attention...lol! Hubs + Monty + ZoΓ«

@shoeshoed I'm glad to see I'm not the only one battling such wills...Bo sounds like a total crack up!

@myzturee oh my, I'm so sorry of your loss and will keep you in my prayers. It's so tough. I pray everyday for strength from The Lord. Everyday is tough and anniversaries are as well. Lost my Dad 29 yrs ago and still hurts. Time heals a bit, but the loss we feel forever. So just Mom and I for the past 29 yrs and we were super close and I lost her to alheimerz, another horrific dissease. I watched her slowly drift away from me.
Jul 03Reply

shoeshoed
@myzturee omg...I believe that is what was going on with my 2 Cockers. When I lost my other Cocker of 18, it took me awhile then I rescued one of the Cockers and then found out there was another one from the same lady.
Jul 03Reply

myzturee
@shoeshoed Agreed. The loss never leaves; you just adapt...like one does after an amputation. You are still you...just with missing parts. I will be praying for your comfort, healing, and peace, as well. But glad you got to make those precious memories with your Mom during your time together.
Jul 03Reply

shoeshoed
@myzturee yes...he's a character. He's not left alone often or for very long, but if we go to the grocery store, when we come back he can hardly contain himself. He smiles, but he smurks...only one side goes up where he shows his teeth...it's hilarious
Jul 03Reply

myzturee
@shoeshoed Bwahahahahahaha. OMG...you totally have to post a pic of his βElvis smirk.β

@myzturee Spoken so well. Thank you so much and you'll be in my prayers. I've enjoyed talking with you! You are so correct, those most difficult times spent with her at the end, I treasure and I learned so much from it. Quit Corp america and now my love is for the elderly who need love.
Jul 03Reply

myzturee
@shoeshoed Iβve enjoyed speaking with you also. Congrats on leaving the grind behind to go care for and love on the elderly. Itβs a two-way gift π...the geriatric community is a special group of our society...so much history and wisdom to enrich anyone willing to take the time. Thank you for you thoughts and prayers...yes, anniversaries are tough. Continued blessings to you and yours.
