DESIGN DETAILS The famous Maison des Tanneurs in historic Strasbourg, France Located along a branch of the Ill, the Maison des Tanneurs is a remarkable example of the craftsmen's houses preserved in the rue du Bain-aux-plantes. The original two-storey building, corbelled on the street side, is topped with ventilated attics. Lined with a gallery façade on the Ill, which was once open, it allows tanners to benefit from ideal conditions for processing leather and drying hides. MB
