Upcycling clothing involves taking old or unwanted garments and turning them into something new and unique. This process can involve cutting and sewing, adding new embellishments, or repurposing the fabric into a new garment. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that is both fashionable and sustainable.
I am a young and beautiful Fashion Designer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I lost a lot of weight so I choose to upcycle my beautiful plus size women's clothing that doesn't fit me anymore. It's still fabric that I can use to recycle it into real designer clothing for other women who are the same size as I was before. I was a size 24 and I went down to a size 16 which is 100 lbs.
This top is $69.99 because it took me 1 hour to create. My labor is $50 an hour because this is the average hourly pay rate of a Fashion Designer with experience, and I graduated in 2011. I have been making clothing since before then. The cost of materials was $20.
This blouse is made from brand new materials. It was a bodysuit, and I removed the bottom because I do not enjoy wearing bodysuits as a plus size woman. I find it uncomfortable for me to attach the closure at the bottom, and I do not find it flattering on the waistline in a plus size. It has a raw cut hemline because the fabric is too thin. I hand stitched the bottom side seams.
