Walter Dendy Sadler (1854-1923), born May 12, 1854 in Dorking, an English artist, and brought up in Horsham, showed an early talent for drawing. At age 16 he decided to become a painter and enrolled for two years at Heatherly's School of Art in London from 1870-71, subsequently studying in Dusseldorf Germany under Burfield and Wilhelm Simmler, 1871-77. He exhibited at the Dudley Gallery from 1872 and at the Royal Academy from 1873-1914.
