David Varsano 36g Big Electroform Bangle Bracelet, Sterling w Gold Vermeil

Bright, bold vintage bangle by Israeli craftsman David Varsano, in electroformed sterling silver. This thick, half-domed bangle has faux wrap details on its perimeter, coated with gold vermeil. The vermeil is faded but still faintly visible (the photos don't show this accurately). One expert I consulted found this faded look to be just as alluring as bright gold--less gaudy in fact. This bracelet has been cleaned with warm water with a little dissolved baking soda. (It was not submerged since water would enter through the holes from the electroform process.) As an estate piece, it shows fine lines consistent with being worn. At 36.5 grams of sterling silver, it has substance but is light considering its size. That's thanks to the electroform process, in which a complex form, typically in resin, is coated with metal. This relative lightness lets the bracelet dangle freely on your arm. It slides off smoothly and easily and is fun to wear. Inside circumference is 8 inches, width is 17mm. Signed "Varsano 925."
