If you remember when Star Wars came to the movie theater (March 25, 1977), then you may also recall the influence of this vintage handheld. The DataMan by Texas Instruments is an educational toy calculator designed in 1977 to teach math to kids seven and up. Charming, it features a grey plastic case that resembles a robot with an 8-digit vacuum fluorescent display. The device has pre-programmed math games to aid in learning basic mathematical functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Condition:
• Vintage Condition. Scuffs, scratches, marks, wear. There are no cracks, no chips, no broken parts. Tested, Works as Intended. Circa 1977.
• Includes 2 booklets (may be photocopies). They are secured with staples that do have a bit of rust. Booklet 1: The Story of DataMan; Booklet 2: DataTasks for Exploring Math with DataMan
