Quistgaard is highly regarded for his sculptural approach to homeware design, and his stylistic contributions to the mid-20th century domestic setting. His influence & importance is most notable in the USA, where his design work for Dansk was so successful that one could argue, by the 1960's, that your dinner party was simply not 'modern' without the presence of his work. Resultantly, Quistgaard is more responsible than any other designer for popularising the aesthetics of Scandinavian design in mid-20th Century America. This large tapered bowl is subtle and stylish.
