During the Ch'ing, or Manchu, dynasty, the porcelain industry received great encouragement and patronage from the Imperial household. The porcelains of that period were typically decorated with flow-ers, floral sprays and delicately drawn birds in soft shades of green, blue and yellow, with restrained reds and touches of gold. The graceful shape of this Minton bell is also of Oriental influence.
