DISTINGUISHED 1940's NAVY TILT FELT HAT - INDENTED CYLINDRICAL CROWN & VEIL

This is a very elegant look from the fashionable forties! The tilt hat is made of beautiful stiff navy felt. The tall crown is cylindrical, is taller at one side, is concave at the top and has a creative indentation at one side of the top. There is a wide band of shiny navy material around the crown in a slanted position, ending in beautiful bows at the side where the indentation is located. A beautiful navy veil is attached along with an elastic band to help keep the hat ion a tilted position. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle & held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills. Label: NEW YORK CREATION - Adjustable The New York Creation label was created by a group of well-known designers who wanted to remain anonymous & wanted to support the New York Creation label & keep it competitive with French styles of the era.
