David Copperfield was born David Kotkin in New Jersey in 1956. An early interest in ventriloquism led to an even greater interest in magic. At 12, David was the youngest person ever to be admitted to the Society of American Magicians and at 16, he was teaching a college course in magic. In 1974, David took the stage name Copperfield when he designed illusions for and starred in the long-running Chicago stage show “The Magic Man”. Television came calling in 1978 and his many specials have won 21 Emmys. David has traveled the world doing his illusions and is the most successful solo performer of all time with over 4 billion dollars in ticket sales. David signed this 8x10 photo with his big, trademark sweeping signature. It is in excellent condition except for a light fold across the lower right corner (see photo).
