This listing is for a custom-made Tanuki Japanese raccoon fur coat. It belongs to my step-mother, Carol and was purchased in the 1980s. (You can see her monogram "CAS" in one of the photos.) She remembers it was made for her from a furrier in New York City (she can't recall the name) and she believes that's why there's no "maker's mark/label" like you'd see in a more commercial furrier. It's a truly beautiful coat of brown, caramel, gold and tan color fur with a tan, silk lining. No pockets. Rarely worn. Very warm. There's one hook closure and an interior robe-like tie to put around your waist to keep the coat closed. There's underarm pads and elastic at the bottom of the sleeves. She believes it's equivalent to a size 10, as it was custom made (see measurements below which are approximate). 49" shoulder to hem 28" sleeve length 20" interior pit to pit (when the coat is open) Please see photos for wear and tear...it's in amazing condition, except for a small rip in the silk lining.
