shellston4 Sorry it took me so long to respond I measured from the top of the leg of the chaps to the bottom and it’s 26 inches long but I wore my chaps low on my hips so it’s a little deceiving I’m 5’3 so whatever you decide just let me know I know like you said you can always get someone to lengthen them

smallfoxfarms Hello! I’m very interested in these chaps as a jumper rider. Could you please provide measurements of the width of chap at top with them open and lying flat? I want to make sure they’ll fit around top of thigh. The length is perfect and I can have calf taken in. Thank you for your help.

shellston4 @smallfoxfarms That’s crazy I had hurdle horses in the 90’s when the purses first got good I had a nice horse he was 3 his first start at Saratoga I had 2 others but it was too expensive and time consuming because I lived in Pa so I would drive to Sc and No Va so I galloped and trained racehorses in Md for years until I was injured in a fall I rode maybe 3 steeplechase races I rode on the flat I’m happy to meet you!!

smallfoxfarms @shellston4 OMG this is awesome! Did you know Tom Voss or Jonathan Shepherd? I have great friends in Monkton Maryland. I love love love that area soooo much. Absolutely beautiful. I currently have two OTTBs I’m training in hopes of foxhunting. Both raced in Saratoga last August. It’s such a small world. I’m so excited to meet another REAL horse person on this app. When I saw your chaps I knew they were the real deal. ❤️

smallfoxfarms @shellston4 I rode with Mike Berryman out of TN but worked/hunted with Tom at Eldridge Hartford. Monkton and that area is every bit as lovely as Lexington Ky in my opinion. Do you still ride? Have horses? So happy I texted about chaps. This is awesome. 🤗

shellston4 @smallfoxfarms it is really great unfortunately when I was thrown over the inside rail at Laurel I broke my neck I still have feeling everywhere and I was riding at a therapeutic place it wasn’t bad I am still in a wheelchair but am trying to get a re-walk?

smallfoxfarms @shellston4 So you are my official spirit sister. OMG I broke my back in try jumper ring at a horse show in TN. I had lower lumbar fusion and a head injury. Nothing as bad as yours.
