Anyone interested in a custom dress? I am an experienced seamstress and can recreate a dress you've seen in stores, or work with you to design one from scratch made to your measurements. The photo is an example of one I made for myself- only varying the color way slightly to colors I prefer. Prices would vary based on what you are wanting, obviously. Leave me a comment and let me know!

So out of curiosity and my wedding planning daydreaming - I've been looking at j crew's bridesmaid dresses. Would you be able to do something like that for less than they charge?

mamathayer
@kenzibray absolutely! I did five of those blue bridesmaids dresses- each one with a different bodice style. I can add more photos of the others if you'd like. Typically I charge $75/dress + the cost of materials. So it usually ends up being around $100 a dress. When's the wedding? :)

@mamathayer no date. Just a fantasy in my head so far ;) still waiting to get engaged. Buuut that could be any time I suppose. So far it's just a dream on pinterest 😉

@kenzibray haha oh pinterest... My wedding was before pinterest- I wish I had been able to organize everything like that. Instead I had an inspiration folder on my desktop. ;) well- let me know! I do have experience planning weddings too- I planned my own wedding and a cousins on a budget and in under 3 months both times. :)

Awesome! 😃I love weddings. And I love the j crew dresses but unless you get lucky & find them on sale it's $200+. My hypothetical wedding colors are navy blue & gray. And just the clean, simple silhouette.

@kenzibray my wedding colors were navy and silver (in December- it makes a really beautiful winter wonderland type of color scheme) :)

Ooh I bet! I want yellow accents with mine. I'd love a late summer/early fall wedding

@mamathayer Beautiful, wish I could sew!!

mamathayer
@beckylmnop you totally can! It just takes some patience and willingness to make mistakes. I taught myself to sew about 5 years ago and now I'm designing things! ;)

@beckylmnop also, I may be ready to let
go of the mixed tiny dress at the top if you're interested. :) it's about a size 0-2 (I made it to my measurements and I'm a 32a with a 26.5 waist).

@mamathayer I wish I was that size, but not after having a baby lol!

@beckylmnop I totally understand!! It's been almost 3 years for me and my hips still arent the same. ;)

How much would you charge for a white lace dress that's a little above the knee and has 3/4 sleeves?
Oct 29Reply

mamathayer
@summernicole would you want it to be a stretchy fabric or fitted with a zipper?
Oct 29Reply

summernicole
Probably fitted with a zipper
Oct 29Reply

mamathayer
@summernicole ok- I would have to price fabric to be sure but probably $60 ish. :)

summernicole
Okay. I'll keep it in mind for when I get some money :) thanks
