Hand-sewn and sold by Saks Fifth Avenue sometime between 1960-65, this dress gets better with time and pictures don’t do it justice. Constructed out of a beautiful, Shantung silk-like material, the detailing is phenomenal and admirable. Ornate buttons, seams and ruching in all of the right places! scarlenzoli @maryruwuw827373 I cannot visibly find any flaws myself besides a thread needing tightening on left arm where the ruching is. Seems like it will be a quick fix. The dress is in beautiful beautiful shape after having been tucked away for almost seventy years; kind of mind-blowing! I do want to mention that the dress will be sold as is and I cannot accept returns due to the cost and value of the item.

scarlenzoli However, if these measurements are correct for your daughter, you’ve struck fashion gold! This is one I am happy will go to a good home but will miss! Since everyone was tiny back then-especially through the waist, I guessed it was a two. After I give you the measurements I will ask you to let me know if that is correct or not-or maybe a two today is much larger than it was. That is my guess…

scarlenzoli Measurements (Approximate) in inches; Waist; 27 and about a quarter Shoulder to mid arm sleeve length; 15.5 although there really isn’t a determinate shoulder seam. I’m just going off of this slender mannequin. Shoulder to floor length; 51 Shoulder to shoulder; 15 Please let me know if I can be of more assistance and thank you for your interest!

scarlenzoli @mcbozant hi there and thank you for your questions. When I purchased the gown, I can assume it is an original condition because it is really that ballet length that the designer was going for. It does have about an inch and a half that could be let out if needed. Please let me know if you have further questions as it is in beautiful shape. I’d love to find a great home for it, and would even love more for someone to wear it to a special event. I have a feeling this dress has a history to it.:)
