All distressing was done during the manufacturing process. These are Dark Gray with a little yellowing in spots, part of the distressed look, they are made that way! As I stated, they have only been worn once. There is NO damage, only what they did to distress them during their process. Includes Box and the boot cover plastic bags. I have written on the box describing what is inside, I do that sometimes to make it easier to find something to match my outfit! Easy to white it out if you don't like that.
