Copper Starboard Nautical Oil Lantern with Yellow/Green Lens

Vintage copper starboard oil lamp, also known as a ship's lantern or navigation light.  Purpose: The lamp is a type of navigation light used on ships to indicate the vessel's position and direction to other ships.  Starboard: The word "STARBOARD" is embossed on the lantern, and the yellow/green lens indicates that it is the light for the starboard (right) side of a vessel.  Fuel: This lantern is typically designed to burn lamp oil or kerosene. You can add a wick and some oil to it, or you can add a lighted candle to it instead. Materials: This lantern is made of copper and has a yellow/green glass lens.  The top opens two ways.
