This is achieved using a millefiori (Italian for "a thousand flowers") or murrine technique.How it works: Glass artists layer different colors of molten glass to build a pattern, image, or letters. They then stretch that molten block into a long, thin rod (cane). When the rod cools, it is sliced like a loaf of bread, revealing the exact same design or name in the cross-section of every slice.Application: The slice containing the name "Mike" was encased inside the clear borosilicate glass pendant.
