Color Change Sapphire Sterling Chunky Ring

Huge vintage chunky sterling silver emerald cut color changing sapphire ring size 10.25-10.5. The gemstone measures 15.30 x 11.84 x 8.00. The colors change from purple to red in incandescent light. This estimates as a 16.18 tcw gemstone. I acquired this ring from a local sale. The history behind it is that the stone was removed from a very old crucifix and hand made into a ring. There are no markings on the inside but it tests positive for sterling silver. This ring is really heavy and weighs over 30 grams. There is some vintage wear in the sterling as shown in photos as well as a small hairline mark on the inside of the band. Otherwise in good condition for its age.
