I want to show my world as I see it. I am terminally Ill. Long term hospice care has been with me for about a year and a half now and I have a full time Personal assistant who takes care of ALL needs. I got sick when I was 39. Lupus attacked my brain and female organs first. Also depleted my iron and I became deathly anemic. It attacked my heart and lungs next with a vengeance. I was immediately put on oxygen and my world changed in a blink of an eye. I had to immediately retire teaching.

missyshuk i fought for 4 yrs to get social security disability. i missed full disability by $1500. so I got SSI $783 and month compared to SSDI $2200 a month. But I am so thankful for what I have.

missyshuk Back to my lungs and heart. I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and immediately put on oxygen. 1 yr later it attacked my heart. I also have pulmonary hypertension and stiff heart syndrome. My lower lungs are hardening like concrete and so is my heart. The right side of my heart is very enlarged becuz the left side is weakening and shrinking.

missyshuk I have many other autoimmune diseases to many to mention and I dont to bore you with it all. I will elaborate a little more on my pain issues. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. When I first got put on oxygen. I fell outa my truck face first onto the road and suffered two compression fractures in my back.

missyshuk The first 3 yrs of lupus I tried to live a normal life but on the 4th yr with my lungs and heart now failing I had to finally stay home as much as possible. I take many steroids to keep my lungs going but they also make your bones brittle. Last Austin I fell and severely broke my leg and have been bed ridden ever sinse.

missyshuk With all this being said. I am happy and live a very fulfilling life. I love all my boys and my beautiful fur baby Ellie May. I am upbeat and think positive. I was given 2 to 5 yrs to live 6 yrs ago. lol so I best them. I know my story isn't for everyone but education is crucial so If i help just one person by writing this it's all worth it. missyshuk oh the first few pictures are meant for a posh friend. that is why I created this post so she can see what I've done to my cart on wheels. I call it my gypsy table. I'll replace most of those later with pix of me and my family. ok now I'm really done.
