Antique Coiffe et Cie Limoges Violets Floral Porcelain Elegant Serving Dish with Embossed & Scalloped Gilded Gold Edge
LS&S red mark is the backstamp for Lazarus Straus and Sons, who were the importers to the US, not the makers. They had a factory in Limoges, France carrying out bespoke decoration of porcelain, bought-in from some of the top factories in the region.
The star green mark is for Coiffe et Cie (Coiffe & Co). This is the mark of the company that actually made the ceramic, and was founded by Jeune Coiffe in 1872, in Paris, with a separate factory in Limoges. They were renown for fine tableware, and much of this was sold on as 'white' blanks to be hand-painted or decorated by specialist companies, like Lazarus Straus & Sons.
