Description: • Style 317 – the original early 1980s Megan, made in the USA • Distinctive hexagon flap design with magnetic snap closure • Fixed crossbody strap with original hangtag • Exterior slip pocket on back, unlined raw leather interior with creed stamp • Classic glove-tanned leather that develops a rich patina over time Collector’s Note: This is the original Megan bag, style 317, made in the USA in the early 1980s. Coach later continued the Megan design in the 1990s under the style number 9921, when the company shifted to 4-digit codes and expanded the color range. The early 317s were only produced in a handful of classic shades like Black, British Tan, Bone, Putty, Tabac, and Mahogany, making them much harder to find today. Measurements (approx.): Width: 7.5” Height: 8” Depth: 3” Strap drop: 24” (fixed) Color Note: This bag is in Tabac, a light golden-tan Coach shade from the early 80s. It’s warmer than Bone or Putty but lighter and softer than Saddle. Tabac is harder to find and has become a really versatile vintage neutral. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with very minimal wear. One small scratch on the back corners (see photos). Beautiful patina throughout.
