In the 1940's, a man named Miles Cahn visited a baseball glove leather plant to see how their leather was treated because he was amazed at how his baseball glove never wore out. It was there that the glove tanning process was discovered to be one that would be the best for bags and luggage. It keeps the leather soft and flexible, yet durable while showing the beautiful natural grains of the cow hides. Because of this, these early Coach glove tanned full-grain leather bags and purses are highly sought after.
