gburks1980 @lips3961 coach’s items (unless stamped with .925) are gold-plated brass; perhaps you’re thinking 🤔 of the store with the little blue box (Tiffany’s)! Coach’s smooth, high-polished plated brass will withstand time & not rust/corrode like porous sterling silver.

lips3961 @gburks1980 no I do have a coach bangle that is silver and black—the silver ended up wearing off over time showing the brass—I bought it directly from coach so I know it was authentic

lips3961 And actually I meant to say stainless steel not sterling silver

gburks1980 @lips3961 they’re not stainless, they’re not silver, they’re gold plated brass!! Its not hard to tell whether an item is stainless; usually, those that are, are marked/stamped with the words “stainless steel” or “.925” (if sterling).

gburks1980 @lips3961 I’ve had more coach (plus heavier designers like YSL, Fendi, Chloe costing upwards of $500) bangles than you could even imagine, and over the course of decades, I’ve never “worn” the plating down to the brass metal. That’s one reason I stay away from sterling b/c I don’t like the ‘rusty penny’ feel to my jewelry. I like my pieces smooth & high-polished!!

gburks1980 @lips3961 Maybe, after each wear, try wiping down your costume jewelry with a damp towel (& a light soap, like dove) to clean your naturally occurring skin oils from your brass/non-gold pieces. Hope this helps in clarifying, if not, go visit/call a coach store!!
