Classic Vintage HICKOK Tie Bar Clip - 10K Gold Plated with Chain, Excellent Gift

Vintage HICKOK tie bar clip manufactured by a classy designer costume jewelry company during the late 1940s, with an upscale mid-century modern look. Marked "HICKOK U.S.A 1/40 10K R.G.P." on the back and again " 1/40 10K R.G.P." on the alligator clip, which indicates the tie bar and clip are made of base metal covered by 10-karat Rolled Gold Plate, and the gold is 1/40th of the total weight. S. Rae Hickok founded HICKOK Jewelry Manufacturing Co. in 1909 by buying a small jewelry plating business for $350. He led the company's expansion as a major manufacturer of wallets, belts, pants, suspenders, and men's designer costume jewelry. Hickok Jewelry Manufacturing Co was based in Rochester, NY and operated through around 1950. This desirable mid-century costume jewelry gold-plated bar-style tie clip is in excellent condition. It has an embossed classical abstract design that runs horizontally across the front center of the tie bar. The clip measures 2-3/4" long x 3/6" wide, with a 5"-long chain loop that hangs hanging down 2" from it, permanently attached at either end. The alligator press clip is very smooth and secure.
